“Santa Monica”

The day after.

The day after the protests and the lootings in Santa Monica, I thought it was my duty as a photographer and required by my project “Santa Monica” to document what was left in the alleys of my adoptive city.

It was strange to see soldiers in full military gear, walking through the streets of this very affluent community, and it has been also inspiring to see citizens volunteering to clean up the mess left by the looters.

There was white people, black people and police working together peacefully.

My photos of the aftermath in Santa Monica clearly show that here Black Lives Matter, and there is hope for a better future where all the residents, regardless of color and race, can work in harmony to “clean up” and move forward.
